The first part of the evening is Elegia by Enrico Morelli (Danza&Danza Award for Best Italian Production 2023), a dreamlike journey of self-discovery. This choral dance immerses us in a vortex of lines and trajectories that meet and intertwine in an apparent primordial chaos, until calm is restored.
The second part of the evening is choreographed by Itzik Galili and is titled Il balcone dell’amore (The Balcony of Love). Galili comments on the piece: “With its lightness, Pérez Prado’s music conveys a deep sense of simple joy to me. It makes me happy to see how the younger generations relate to it and how it awakens different layers of emotions in them...”
The Ballet of the Serbian National Theatre in Novi Sad was founded in 1950. Its first director, choreographer, and teacher was Marina Olenina, a Russian artist trained in the classical ballet tradition. Since November 2024, the company has been directed by Aja Jung.
For its new production, Tell Me About Love, featuring 25 talented dancers, the Serbian National Theatre Ballet is collaborating with two internationally renowned choreographers: Enrico Morelli from Italy and Itzik Galili from Israel.
