Indefinite frequency is a dynamic and engaging concert-dance performed by three dancers and four percussionists. The work investigates the role of memory in the present moment and revolves around the ripple effect that even minor experiences have on our identity. Different polarities and dualities shape the movement of the dancer’s body, creating an infinite network of connections and constellations.
Music, movement and light combine to build a rich tapestry of texture, space, time, and architecture.

The project is a collaboration between Charlie Brittain, a British choreographer and performer,; Milan Tomášik, a Slovakian artist who lives in Slovenia where he teaches, creates and performs; and the Slovenski Tolkalni Projekt (SToP) ensemble, which was founded in 1999 and boasts established classically trained percussionists from different parts of Slovenia.

interview

Have you been to Gorizia before?
I was, but only as a tourist. Now it is going to be for the first time as artist - performing.

What awaits you after Visavì?
Hmm, Visavi festival is actually the last one during our October tour of Indefinite Frequency pièce. Until the end of the year I have a few residencies (Croatia and Slovakia) where I work together with Charlie Brittain on a new solo and I am teaching at the University of dance in Vilnius, Lithua-nia.

You have the power to do one thing to change the world of dance: what is it?
To make the conditions for dance artists better. Build an institution that supports dancers, choreog-raphers, dance makers on a daily bases.

If you could give one piece of advice to a new dance company moving its first steps?
Focus on the work, work hard, the results comes later.

Three words to describe what dance is to you.
Life, meaning of life, love.

Tell me what your show is about in a simple way.
Endless possibilities of different encounters with (non) action.

Now, convince me to come and see it!
Great (live!) music of four percussionists, three great dancers and fantastic choreography:-)
