Have you been to Gorizia before?
Yes, and I look forward to coming back… To me, it’s like going back home, since I am a quarter Friulian.
What do you look forward to doing again?
Eating a good and earthy “frico”, chatting with local people over a nice glass of wine.
What awaits you after Visavì?
Right after the festival, I will start rehearsing the Carmen at Teatro Regio in Parma as a choreogra-pher. The debut is on 12th January, so I will spend the Christmas Holidays thinking about actions and movements.
You have the power to do one thing to change the world of dance: what is it?
In Art – real Art – I think it is important to grant everyone complete freedom of action and thought, and the possibility of “making mistakes”. I therefore believe that I would give all Artists the funds and time to make mistakes and grow, moving away a little from the hyper-production that has bent Art to consumerism in recent years.
If you could give one piece of advice to yourself as a child, what would it be?
“Make mistakes, stumble, fall and get back up stronger”
And to a new dance company moving its first steps?
Be honest with your Art, because it’s your greatest gift. Use it for something urgent, something that you need.
Three words to describe what dance is to you.
Communication, language, message
Tell me briefly what your show is about. Now convince me to come and see it :)
Les Miserables is a little theatre of “human misery”, where irony is used to describe our society in all its fragility. Four rickety acrobats at the service of the scene use body and voice to give life to a decadent show with a tragicomic epilogue.
If irony doesn’t suit you, don’t come! Otherwise, you are all welcome!!
